Fashion week in Paris opens with the iconic "Fête de la musique"

Paris Fashion Week starts June 21st this year right on the annual event called "Fête de la Musique" which translates to a party for music also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. An evening made just to celebrate and enjoy music all over the city. What better way to kick off a week of fashion if not with a city full of music. This blog post will give you insight on where to enjoy music on the Fête de la Musique in our neighborhood; Fashion Week events open to the public and hot spots for fashion mongers.

Let's party for music!

Fête de la Musique is a wonderful day of the year as you'll find the streets of Paris filled with musicians playing all day. Clubs, bars, bistros and restaurants all hosting live music. All of this on Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year where the sun won't set before 1o PM. Fête de la Musique also happens to be on the first day of summer so the city is filled with happy hearts and music all around. Being in the heart of Paris, our neighborhoods have a lot of options!

Liquide, the newest restaurant that opened on our street of our St Honoré location will be hosting an evening of DJs and street food. The chefs were a top chef contestant. Apartments du Louvre tested it when it opened and it is approved by our team! The young and classy atmosphere guarantees you a lively and delicious night out!

If you've watched Emily in Paris, you're familiar with the Savoir office which is next door to Apartments du Louvre St Honoré. Happy to say that for Fête de la Musique this year, the plaza on which those offices are located is turning into a DJ set with finger foods to enjoy. Bound to be a fashionable, musical evening!

Right in the middle of both of our locations is the impressive Saint Eustache church with the return of the 36 hour music festival starting Monday the 20th. This means 36 hours (including one non-stop night) of free music opened to anyone in a breathtaking setting. All types of music ranging from folk, electro, classical will be played using the exceptional church organ.

For our guests at our Le Marais location, there will be a wonderful brass band at the Carreau du Temple, a cultural center in the Marais district which is surrounded by wonderful restaurants and terrasses.

If you're in Paris more for the fashion and less for the music there's still a lot to offer. Typically a lot of Fashion Week events are closed to the larger public but we found a few spots you should check out. After the State of Soul fashion show on Saturday June 25th, Marine Serre will be hosting a party open to the public. You can get your tickets online on their website: www.marineserre.com
